Calypso Pumps
>
Calypso's Ultra High Pressure "UHP" intensifier pumps are all designed at 60,000 psi to provide the fastest possible cutting, no matter what material you are working with. Completely integrated with the Calypso controls, our approach provides the operator ease of use and shows diagnostic messages on the console screen.
Available in 30hp, 60 hp and 100 hp operating models, all have 60,000 psi operating pressure. Full 60,000 psi working pressure results in 18% faster cutting speeds than 50,000 psi. Calypso's exclusive 60hp/60,000 psi pump is perfect for dual head cutting, or to drive a single head at far faster speeds than standard pumps offered elsewhere.
Elimination of the static high pressure seals, with a metal-on-metal permanent seal, requires only two seals instead of the four standard in other intensifier pumps producing lower cost and faster maintenance. Even greater savings is achieved over "Direct Drive" or "Crank Shaft" types of pumps, which have six or eight seals.
Taper is dramatically reduced by the use of higher psi and pressure, so no "add on" optional cutting heads are needed, again emphasizing our fair pricing policy. Low Pressure Pierce for brittle materials is handled via the automatic High/Low cycling of pressured.
When evaluating pump technology, it's critical to take all aspects of productivity into consideration.
Calypso pumps deliver:
- Dual Pressure Control for automatic High/Low cycling of pressure. This feature is used for low pressure piercing of brittle materials
- Long slow stroke intensifier for extended seal life
- Fewer seals than competitor equipment, reducing cost of seals and down time for changes
- Ceramic plungers for increased plunger life
- Cartridge quick change hydraulic seal design
- Long seal life design - more hours than other equipment
- High efficiency head exchanger to reduce cooling water required
- Variable displacement, Pressure Compensated piston hydraulic pump technology
- Quiet operation
Advantages of Intensifier Pumps
>
- Longer time between seal/check valve re-builds (typically 2-1/2 to 3 times longer)
- Faster re-build time
- Lower consumable costs
- Less total down time = more parts cut = more profit
- Higher operating pressure = faster cutting speed
